My Philosophy

My work is a reflection of my personality. Unique, bold, large.

My paintings are messy, have broad strokes, unreal complementary colors and are made out of thick layers of oil paint. You can almost call them three dimensional, as the structure is eminent.

Get close to it and you see the splashes of paint built up of colors you would not expect. Step back and the image appears, colors blend. I also like to add material into the paint like sand or brush hairs, to make it pop more.

Each piece of art I create is a journey in itself. It begins with an idea or inspiration, but always it has an image or photo as the base.

I don't trace, but do use my computer to get the right dimensions in place and play with lighting to enhance the image.

Hope you like it! You can have one. It's a lifetime present to yourself (or to a loved one).

Beyond the Canvas

I live in Amsterdam, but have my studio at my house in a small village in France (Bourgogne).
That's where i find peace of mind to create the work.

I find inspiration in music as well.
